Ruminant Business Director

We have an exciting opportunity to lead the Ruminant Technical, Sales & Marketing team and drive the business forward at a time of significant investment and interesting new product/service developments from our parent company Nutreco. In this role you will be responsible for formulating and delivering the strategy together with playing a key part of the overall business strategy as a member of the senior Management Team.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Developing and implementing the total Ruminant & Feed Safety business strategy.
  • Developing an efficient sales organization to deliver against the strategy.
  • Representing Trouw Nutrition as the technical thought leader in Ruminant Nutrition, ensuring nutritional and technical support for customers.
  • Ensuring the monitoring of trends in business, market and customer requirements and the translation into innovations to optimise the product portfolio.
  • Formulation of the budget within the team together with ongoing monitoring and reporting to ensure the Company delivers its budget and meets KPI objectives.
  • Management and development of the team.


To be successful in the role you should be able to demonstrate the following: 


  • Degree in relevant Animal Nutrition/Science subject.
  • Relevant experience gained in Senior Technical or Sales position, preferably within a Feed related business.
  • Strong managerial and performance management skills.
  • Drive for excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic thinker – able to develop strategy and implement plans to achieve.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and ability to make sound business decisions
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
  • Good communicator – open, clear, honest and convincing and knows how to listen.
  • Experience of developing and directing a team.
  • Able to quickly gain respect and rapport externally and internally, preferably well established reputation within industry.
