Energized Calf Milk Wins Prestigious Cream Award

Trouw Nutrition GB won the Award for Innovation at The Cream Awards 2019 on 6th February, 2019. The Cream Awards are the key Dairy Industry Trade Awards and they aim to showcase some of Britain’s brightest and best farmers and companies working in the dairy industry.
The judges commented that Energized Calf milk was a genuinely important development for the dairy industry. They saw ECM as a product aimed at farmers looking for high levels of performance from their calves, giving them the best of whole milk combined with the best of calf milk replacer. A typical comment from farmers was not only were the calves bigger, but they had a shine you normally see with milk-fed calves.
Georgina Thomas, Ruminant Technical Business Manager, collected the award from the judges, before enjoying the rest of the evening with colleagues from the GB team and our guests for the dinner - key ECM customers and calf rearers from Metcalfe Farm, who were involved in the initial trials. In fact it was double celebration as Metcalfe Farm also won the coveted Gold Cup – the premier national dairy herds competition, recognizing efficiency in commercial milk production.
ECM has been a big success in GB with over 1,000mt ordered since it was launched in August last year. It now accounts for nearly 20% of CMR sold by Trouw Nutrition GB and this award is literally the cream on the cake!
