Our workshops at EDF Congress 2026
1. Feeding for Resilience: Shaping the Early-Life Calf Rearing Prioritisation
Led by Nacia Bonnick, this workshop will explore how early-life nutrition can influence calf robustness, gut development and long-term performance. Drawing on LifeStart evidence-based insights, the session is designed to encourage discussion around the areas that matter most when building a practical calf rearing framework that supports resilience from day one.
This session is intended to be interactive and discussion-led, helping participants think through priorities in calf management and identify where focused action can have the biggest long-term value.
2. From Compliance to Value Creation: Productivity, Profitability and Emissions Reduction
Led by Dr Liz Homer, this workshop will look at how sustainability can support productivity and profitability on farm - going beyond compliance to focus on practical, measurable value. This session will cover practical approaches aimed at helping farmers optimise their systems through smarter nutrition to reduce emissions and strengthen the bottom line.
Why attend?
EDF Congress 2026 is set to welcome over 400 dairy farmer delegates from across Europe. The programme combines technical insight with practical on-farm learning, covering topics such as automation, sensors, artificial intelligence, nutrient use, healthy soils, and cow health, welfare and longevity.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to take part in workshops, exchange experiences with like-minded professionals, and visit a range of dairy farms representing different milk production systems. These visits are a core part of the congress experience, helping connect strategic discussion with practical reality.
For Trouw Nutrition, this event is an important opportunity to contribute to industry dialogue around nutrition and sustainability.
