Jude Capper | Harper Adams University

Jude L. Capper, PhD DSc (h.c.)  FRAgS FRASE is the ABP Chair and Professor of Sustainable Beef and Sheep Systems at Harper Adams University; and is an independent Livestock Sustainability Consultant. Jude's research focuses on modeling the sustainability of livestock production systems, specifically dairy, beef and sheep. She is currently working on projects relating to on-farm greenhouse gas emissions from UK beef and sheep production and the impacts of livestock health on system sustainability. Jude chairs both the Red Tractor Beef & Lamb Technical Advisory Committee and Skills England’s Route Panel for Agriculture, Environment and Animal Care; and is Vice-Chair of the National Beef Association.  She is also liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Butchers; In 2021, Jude was awarded an honorary doctorate (DSc honoris causa) by HAU; and the Sir John Hammond Award by the British Society of Animal Science and British Cattle Breeders Club, both in recognition of her contributions to the UK livestock industry.

 

Victoria Sanz Fernandez | Trouw Nutrition

Victoria is originally from Madrid (Spain) where she earned her degree in Veterinary Medicine. After gaining experience in large animal clinics, she pursued a PhD in Nutritional Sciences at Iowa State University. She then worked as a postdoc at the Pasteur Institute in France and the Institute for Agricultural Research in Spain, before joining the R&D department at Trouw Nutrition in 2018. In her current role as a ruminant researcher, Victoria focuses on gut health and its consequences on performance and overall health.

 

Rosie Miller-Hawkes | Trouw Nutrition Europe & Central Asia (ECA)  

Rosie Miller-Hawkes studied BSc(hons) Agriculture at Harper Adams University and has over 10 years’ experience working as a Ruminant Nutritionist. Previously, Rosie has worked directly with farmers as a nutritional consultant and within Trouw Nutrition as a nutritionist, and formulations manager. Rosie now leads our Ruminant Farm Mineral strategy across Europe, using her broad industry experience to drive improvement in mineral supply to dairy cows, ensuring optimal health and productivity, whilst reducing environmental impact. Linking R&D with practical solutions for farmers is a real passion for Rosie, and is a key aspect of the Responsible Mineral strategy that she is implementing across our business.

Casper Niesink | Trouw Nutrition 

Casper Niesink is leading a team towards developing global digital solutions, services and platforms. In this role, Niesink and team will generate new revenue, protect market positions, capture more data, and create cost efficiencies. With his experience coupled with world-leading R&D, Niesink is creating the digital foundation to become a more attractive data partner for the industry by improving the digital journey for both Trouw Nutrition and customers. He joined Trouw Nutrition in April 2020 as NutriOpt Director Global.For the past 15 years, he has been active in the agriculture industry with the key task of transforming traditional print publishing into a digital data-based business platform with analytics. He has worked for Proagrica and Reed Business Information, both global providers of information-based analytics and decision tools for agri professionals.

 

Georgina Thomas | Trouw Nutrition Europe & Central Asia (ECA)  

Georgina is the Technical Sales Manager for Young Animal Feed for Europe and Central Asia, working for Trouw Nutrition. She graduated from the University of Nottingham before entering the feed industry to work as a ruminant nutritionist. She has developed a passion for early life nutrition and now has a focus on the development and formulation of milk replacers for young calves. Georgina works to translate cutting edge science and research into practical on farm solutions that help to elevate calf performance to the next level.
