What are your interests and what drew you to science?

I grew up in a small village in Italy but was always interested in living abroad and experiencing new cultures. I am also fascinated by how the world around me works at a molecular level and so that's why was drawn to genetics and chemistry.

What route did you take to your current role as laboratory technician?

I studied Biology, Chemistry and Maths at A-Level and found out about the opportunity at Trouw Nutrition via 6th form careers advisor. Since last August I have been working on the NIR analysing forage samples and I hope to move on to learn some of the vitamin, wet chemical and enzyme techniques.

What advice would you give to someone interested in a career in science?

Follow what you enjoy and put effort into whatever interests you.

Have the confidence to believe in yourself.
