Dr. Liz Homer

 

     


Sustainability Manager Ruminants, Trouw Nutrition

Dr. Liz Homer studied BSc Animal Science at the University of Nottingham and went on to complete a PhD in Dairy Cow Physiology and Fertility. After being awarded her PhD she then worked as a post doctoral scientist for a couple of years focusing on oestrous detection and expression, dairy cow nutrition trials, and assisting in trials focusing on the rumen microbiome and methane reduction.

She joined Trouw Nutrition GB in 2015 as Ruminant Technical Development Manager focusing on linking R&D with practical, applicable solutions for use at customer and farm level. Her role involves working closely with our Global Ruminant Innovation Team and technically supporting many of our customers in the market. Liz has been instrumental in the development and application of many R&D projects, most notably the NutriOpt Dairy Model and NutriOpt solutions.

Liz's main focus is now on sustainability where she leads the European team in driving and implementing our sustainability strategy for ruminants. This encompasses looking internally at our at processes, how we can support customers at their sites to become more sustainable and most exciting how we apply solutions to become more efficient at farm level to reduce environmental footprint. Liz also focuses on looking at innovative solutions to reduce environmental footprint and has been developing partnerships across the supply chain to implement positive change at farm level.

Senior Farm Sustainability Specialist, Arla

Annie is based in the UK but working in the Agricultural Sustainability team covering all Arla markets.Responsible for sustainability, innovation and development in feed and cow nutrition.Recently completed a Nuffield Farming Scholarship evaluating on farm advise on mineral nutrition.She Joined Arla one year ago, and prior to joining Arla a range of commercial and academic roles all in the area of ruminant nutrition.

 

David Christensen

Dairy Farmer and Arla Board Member, Kingston Hill Farm

David runs Kingston Hill Farm Ltd, his family-owned farming company operating dairy and beef farming enterprises in the Thames Valley some 10 miles to the west of Oxford. Some 950 cows in two herds are milked and the business keeps circa another 1000 head of cattle. In addition to the farm, David has been on the Board of Representatives for Arla since 2012, has been involved in a similar capacity with the NFU Mutual since 2010 and was appointed to the board of Wynnstay PLC in April 2025.

Georgina Thomas

 

 

 

Technical Sales Manager YAF, Trouw Nutrition ECA

Georgina is the Technical Sales Manager for Young Animal Feed for Europe and Central Asia, working for Trouw Nutrition. Georgina graduated from the University of Nottingham before entering the feed industry to work as a ruminant nutritionist. Georgina has developed a passion for early life nutrition and now has a focus on the development and formulation of milk replacers for young calves. Georgina works to translate cutting edge science and research into practical on farm solutions that help to elevate calf performance to the next level.

Dr. Jean-Baptiste Daniel 

 

 


Researcher at Trouw Nutrition Global R&D Innovation Centre

Dr. Jean-Baptiste Daniel is originally from Bretagne (France), where he grew up in a dairy farm. Jean-Baptiste completed a double MSc study in Animal Sciences with the Agriculture University of Angers (France) and Wageningen University (the Netherlands). The last MSc thesis in 2012 was conducted within the Ruminant R&D team of Trouw Nutrition and marked a first step in his young scientific career. This gave him the opportunity to go on with a PhD with AgroParisTech-INRA and Trouw Nutrition. The PhD focused on the quantification of milk yield and composition responses to dietary change in dairy cows, a critical component for improving nutrient efficiency at farm level.

Wietse van Rooi

         

Consultant, Nutrivice Consultancy B.V.

Growing up on a family dairy farm with 450 dairy cows, Wietse has been involved in the daily operations of the farm from an early age. Pursuing a degree in Animal and Livestock Husbandry at HAS University of Applied Sciences in ’s-Hertogenbosch was therefore a natural step.

After completing his studies, Wietse began working at Vreba Melkvee BV as an animal caretaker. There, he gained extensive experience with large-scale dairy operations and developed into a true specialist in dairy cattle. He possesses comprehensive knowledge of herd management within the barn, with particular expertise in the care of sick cows, calves, and special cases.

Jess Marshall

 

   


Ruminant Nutritionist

Jess Marshall is the Ruminant Nutritionist at GLW Feeds Ltd, where she leads and continually develops their sustainability journey across both of their feed mills and on-farm operations. As a dairy farmer’s daughter from the Peak District she is able to combine commercial decision-making with innovation, taking the cows lifetime approach to dairy nutrition.

Jess believes there’s no sustainability without profitability. She is committed to delivering practical, science-led solutions that genuinely support farmers. She is passionate about inspiring the next generation of farmers and young people entering the industry, recognising that sustainability is a key driver for this generation more than ever before.

Louise Eyre

 

 


Account Manager

Louise has worked for Trouw for nearly 4 years after graduating from The University of Nottingham, previous to this she was working on a Beef and Sheep Farm on Chatsworth Estate. Louise started out in the formulations department at Trouw where she developed a strong knowledge around all of TNGBs products, focusing mainly on Calf Milk Replacer formulations. In the last 18 months she has taken on the role of Area Account Manager for the North Region, based in Yorkshire. In her spare time she enjoys being involved in Dairy farming and has a strong passion for all things youngstock.

Mark Hall

 

 


Commercial and Technical Manager Ruminants

Mark Hall is the Head of Technical and Commercial at Trouw Nutrition GB, where he has spent the past six years leading the development and delivery of the company’s technical and commercial strategy. In his role, Mark works closely with customers, industry partners, and the national sales team to drive value and innovation across the ruminant sector. He also manages both the technical manager and commercial functions, ensuring strong alignment between science, on‑farm practice, and business outcomes.

Before joining Trouw Nutrition, Mark held a key position at Premier Nutrition, where he led the organisation’s transition cow research programme and managed its transition cow team. It was here that he developed a deep and lasting passion for transition cow physiology and management—an area that continues to inform much of his technical focus and applied research today.

Earlier in his career, Mark worked with several compound feed manufacturers as a Technical Manager, where he shaped technical strategy, provided on‑farm support, and managed his own commercial ledger. These roles gave him a strong foundation in both practical ruminant nutrition and customer‑focused technical delivery. 

Mark graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2010 and has since built a reputation for combining scientific insight with practical expertise to support improved performance, health, and sustainability on dairy and beef farms across the UK.
